Advisory Board

The Advisory Board provides its expertise and direction on various issues pertaining to best practices in the financial sector, future strategies to be adopted by XMPUS and systems and processes followed by XMPUS. The Board periodically reviews performance of XMPUS in the field of Credit Rating Advisory as well as any new initiative taken. Besides, the Advisory Board guides XMPUS on various operational and industry related matters so as to fine-tune.

Advisory Board Mr. A. Lahiri

Mr. A. Lahiri is a renowned Ex - banker having experience of over 40 years in Banking, Research and Credit Rating. He was Managing Director of Credit Analysis & Research Ltd. (CARE Ratings) during 1998-2003. Before joining CARE Ratings, he held the position of Executive Director at IDBI.

During his stint at IDBI of over 20 years, he attended many Senior Level Programmes in India and abroad, including a Programme at the Harvard University, U.S.A. Mr. Lahiri was associated as nominee director with State Government Financial and Industries institutions in Himachal Pradesh, Haryana and Punjab, Stock Holding Corp, Gujarat Narmada Valley Fertilizer Co, Nagarjuna Fertiliser, Ispat Industries, etc. Besides he acted as Independent Director in Inter-Connected Stock Exchange Ltd.,National Stock Clearance Corporation Ltd. – Executive Committee(wholly owned Subsidiary of NSE).

As a vibrant speaker and teacher he has immensely participated in many seminars and helped educational institutions to grow. He attended a programme at the International Monetary Fund (IMF) in Washington and was Dean of Research & Training Centre titled ‘Centre for Corporate Governance Research & Training (CCGRT) of Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) at Navi Mumbai during the period 2003-2006. Besides, he served on the Boards of various Institutions for about six years. He also bagged a project from the University of California, San Diego, U.S.A. & Indian Council for Research in International Economic Relations (ICRIER), New Delhi, in 1993.

After competing his post graduate with Honours in Economics from Jadarpur University, Calcutta, he joined RBI and went on to become Deputy Director during his stay of about 10 years (1968-77) before moving on to illustrious career at IDBI.
